I'm sorry it's been a week since the last update but once again soo much has happened. To keep things simple I'll start from where I left off and hopefully get it all in here.

So I left of getting off the train in Luzern and falling in love. My facebook note about this (since I didn't have time to update this page) can be found here. The gist of it is that everything about Luzern I adored. The people were friendly, the scenery was amazing (mountains, beautiful lake and river), lots to explore, just amazing place. I spent a little longer than I had planned there before heading back to the train station.

The "Why Not" phiosophy came into play again and I hopped the train to Interlaken instead of Bern. It was supposed to be a very scenic route so I took it and it lived up to the hype. Going through the mountains and up them was awesome! I really didn't stay in Interlaken long, just changed trains and headed to Bern as it was getting late.

In Bern I was able to find my hostel pretty easily. On the walk from the train station I passed a beach volleyball tournament that was set up in their old town squre kinda thing with stands and all. Once I got settled at the hostel I went out for a run along the river. Ran passed a zoo kind of thing and lots of swimming/floating entry/exit points into the river. No pictures from this run this time. Got back to the hostel and slept. Next day I got up and wandered Bern. Again, climbing to the highest possible point in the city just cuz.

Once I finished my round of the city I hopped a train to Lausanne. In Lausanne it was raining so was quite happy to spend a few hours in the Olympic Museum. It's located down on Lake Geneva and the view was beautiful (like all of Switzerland). Pretty gardens and sculptures. Pretty cool exhibition involving sand sculptures of "heros". Pics should be up on facebook soon (having uploading issues). There was also an interesting exhibition about photography from the 2008 Bejing Games. The pictures were phenominal! Each one had an explanation from the photographer about the photo and the situation it depicted. When I left the museum it was just spitting rain so I hiked back up the hill and wandered around Old Town checking out a cathedral, bunch of cobblestone streets, museums and town hall. It started to get darker and rain returned so hopped the train back to Bern.

Oh my, it's 2am and I need sleep! I'll have to finish my update later on. I'm currently in Marseille, France. Meeting up with Pete Buday of OPAdvantage tomorrow to head over to Greece for a paddling excursion.

For all you fine folks heading back to Boylen. I'm with you in spirit. I haven't forgotten about you at all, how could I when soccer is all over the place here!!! Get back in the grove folks and the year will fly by. Skyhawk Soccer ... you better bring it boys ... I'll be back to check on you in November!

Bits and bites:

It's official that I will be back in Canada the week of September 21st. So texts and phone calls may resume for domestic prices at that time :) I have no idea when I'll have internet again so please forgive not so frequent updates.

To all those returning to school/work this week ... enjoy :) Just remember that you keep getting a pay cheque whereas I don't!
