Just outside of Calgary for the night and I'm exhausted. I'm plugged in to an outlet that also powers a Coke vending machine outside a Safeway/Starbucks.

What an interesting couple days! I hit the road from Parry Sound round noon on Wednesday. Had an alright drive up to north of Wawa where I had the pleasure of staying with a couple friends from high school and their two energized little boys!

Got up crazy early (5am) to hit the road again from there. Found a gas station along the way that was open at 5:30am (good thing too!). Got up to Quetico Park alright with the help of some friends back in TO with internet access. I was there in lots of time for my race. Even had time to have a nap! There were a few other women there but none of them were going to paddle the C1 race. So I took my OC1 considering I've only raced it once this year and have to race it for the next five weekends! I raced with the mens C2. It was great, rode with them for the first half then hammered my way back the second half. Felt alright until afterwards when I was looking for the shower in the park and they were ALL out of order! I was none too pleased! The bugs were driving me batty so I took off. Sorry to Wayne who I was going to paddle with this morning, couldn't find him to tell him I was heading out.

Somehow I had energy (?) after the race and was a driving machine! Made it up to just outside Winnipeg. Camped out till about 7am then hit the road again. Today I've covered over 1300km. And I'm pooped! Needless to say I'll sleep well again tonight! I'll be heading into Calgary in the morning for a practice with the Calgary Canoe Club then who knows what shanaigans I'll get into for the rest of the day. The Stampede is on but I did that last year. See what the weather is going to do I guess.

Thanks to all the folks that have been texting me. The company was nice!

Also, I still have some 18 month calendars left. Cost is $20 and the proceeds go towards Breast Cancer, National Women's Dragon Boat team and our quest for gold in Prague! I can deliver anywhere between Ottawa and Vancouver (I can also mail them out if need be). Let me know if you're interested.
