It’s on the eve of my first solo race out west and I’m feeling alright. It’s been fantastic! Today was alright racing but this evening was great. Watching a movie, going out for dinner and gelato with Kelly then hanging out on the beach watching the colours from the sunset fade away. It’s hard to believe that this is my life. That this is what I’m doing, that I’m not just living in a dream … I am actually living my dreams! When started asking a couple people today about finding a seat for the next couple races, I was like a hot commodity! It was unbelievable. As soon as I said I was available they were like, let me talk to the boss and I’ll get back to you! Crazy! As for tomorrow’s race, it’s definitely going to be interesting. I’ve got both Kimberley and Erica that will be on the start line plus it’s a mass start so Kelly will be there too plus Jeff from my crew today. I’m really curious to see where I stack up against these folks. It scares the shit out of me that I may not stack up at all and will get my ass whipped but it’s a chance I have to take. Just like the chance that I took taking my leave of absence, the chance I took driving across the country, no matter what happens, at least I know and I’m doing what I want to do. If I don’t win then I have new motivation to get better. If I do win then I have more confidence that I’m on the right path. Either way I’m going to continue to strive to get better. I’m the one that controls my destiny. I’m the one that hold the key to my future. So many clichés in one paragraph but all so true. There are so many people back home that are living my dreams with me. Who wish nothing but the best for me. Until recently I never knew that I have been able to impact so many lives. That I have so many people that I care about and that care about me too. It’s quite phenomenal when I think about it. So tomorrow, not only will I be racing for myself but also for all those that are following my adventure, cheering me on and supporting me in my quest to be the best. Thank you! I've been working on the video blog, just having some technical difficulties but hopefully will have clips up soon (kinda need some internet access!). As for pictures, don't have to many but again, will get those up hopefully before I hit the US this week. Thanks to all the folks that have been texting me. The company is nice! Plus I have inconsistant access to the internet so I may not get access to email for days at a time. If you have something urgent then please txt me if you want me to get it. Also, I still have some 18 month calendars left. Cost is $20 and the proceeds go towards Breast Cancer, National Women's Dragon Boat team and our quest for gold in Prague!
