So the time has come again to hit the road. We've determined that my time limit in one place appears to be two months ... go figure :)

After a wonderful couple weeks of relaxing, well, make that recouperating at the cottage, I'm ready to head west again for the summer. It seems so wrong to leave the wonderful setting of my cottage on Georgain Bay but adventure calls. I've got a week and a bit to make my way down to Portland, OR. But for the first time, I'm not alone on my road trip ... my fiance Rick is coming with me across the country. That's right, fiance :)

The past couple weeks saw a race in Parry Sound in which despite my jet lag and what turned out to be a horrible ear infection that caused a hole in my eardrum the next night actually went ok. I managed to stay close to Gord Cole and Stan M. throughout the entire race and finished only a second behind Gord ... so close but I had absolutely nothing left!

This past weekend I raced the Toronto International Outrigger Challenge which was a 17km course around Centre Island. Again, good race. Had boats around me the whole time. I had a fantastic start and a great first 5km but then the lack of endurance training started to kick in and my pace slowed and folks started to pass me. Only three boys got by and a women's OC2 team. I managed to over take a couple OC6 teams and almost reeled in another by the end of the race.

I'm thankful that I got to see a lot of friends and even got to see the class of 2010 graduate from Nelson A. Boylen C.I. ... oh yeah, I'm about to start my second year on a Leave of Absence from Toronto District School Board as I continue to chase my dream of being the fastest woman on the water!
